Armson makes a surge towards the box and then plays George in through a gap on the left, but Adan's low cross is cleared.

George picks off a loose pass and possession is turned over. Adan looks for a shooting lane, Stenson is screaming at him and showing where he wants the ball, George shoots wide instead and Matty is furious - he wanted that.

Gracey is right behind a shot from the right of the box and the Bucks try to get out quickly, George giving chase and losing out.

DAH gets an opportunity to advance up the left but his ball across the box to the far post is too far ahead of Stenson.

Lavelle with a WWE stoppage on DAH, there's no booking but the Bucks get a free-kick, on half way, wide on their left.

The Bucks clear a 'Port corner, it's returned and they clear it again.

The drama of the opening 15 minutes or so has dissipated a bit, but this game is now poised for whichever side shows the most in the closing 15.

Gnahoua finds room on the right of the box to try a near-post shot that's blocked before it reaches Gracey. The Bucks clear.

George is looking lively and his pull back across the box from the right is cut out before Stenson can move onto it.

George goes close with his first sight of goal, wriggling away from a defender on the edge of the box and firing a shot just too high to Renshaw's top-right corner.

Stenson wins a corner, Renshaw standing up tall at his near post to bat down Matty's fierce shot from an acute angle to the right of goal. The resulting kick brings a foul and a 'Port free-kick.

The Bucks look for a response, stung inton action, and they win a corner as Minihan turns the ball out at the far post from a right wing cross.

The Sandgrounders have turned this one around, and Chris Sze finishes as the Bucks fail to clear, beating Gracey from the right of the box.

The Bucks have been a bit loose in their play in these opening stages and 'Port get an attacking throw on the left from Gracey's pass to Dyer, which asked too much of Ammar.

'Port level.

The Bucks are hauled level and there have been a few warnings in the last couple of minutes. They go unheeded, and Malakai McKenzie's shot with his left foot beats Gracey high to his right, despite Josh getting a hand on it.

Sze is sent through but Cranston and Piggott both raises arms to claim the offside and they get the decision. In the next phase of play, Gracey has to speed off his line to save at the feet of a 'Port forward.

Meddows wins possession and pings the ball crossfield for Williams to chase on the right. The move comes to nothing.

A second yellow card for the visitors, Dwyer punished for a crude halting of Charlie Williams close to the halfway line.

Jordan Keane booming ball to the 'Port right from defence is overhit, no one from either side chases it as it's going out for a throw.

Dylan Allen-Hadley tries to go past his man on the left of the box but the 'Port defender goes to ground and DAH has the free-kick awarded against him.

McKenzie is a threat on the right but a really determined tackle from Meddows wins possession. Jamie had to get that right as McKenzie was in the box, and he did.

The Bucks go close to a second goal as Renshaw saves from Stenson's effort from the right of the box. The Bucks get a corner as a result but there's no subsequent threat.

Dwyer can't keep Minihan's crossfield ball in play on the left, the Bucks get a throw-in.

Chris Sze makes a very knowing tap on Fletcher's ankles as Alex moves away from him towards halfway, and he's booked on his debut.

Gracey punches the corner clear and the Bucks break out through Williams on the right. He finds Walker on the opposite side and Remi's touch and low shot brings a block with his legs by Renshaw.

McKenzie burrows into space on the right, again it's good possession from the visitors, and Cranston thrusts out a foot to divert it out for a corner at Josh Gracey's near post.

Southport are showing some nice touches and look reasonably comfortable on the ball, which is what the Bucks were primed for. They now have an attacking free-kick, just outside the 'D', to the right as they look.

The Bucks are almost in a spot of bother, losing possession in the box, but again the delivery from the right of the box is cut out by Dyer.

Walker threads a pass for Stenson that a 'Port defender gets in the way of, and he manages to successfully shield the ball from Matty, back to keeper Chris Renshaw.

Dyer's sliding challenge on Dwyer doesn't win possession, and 'Port have a chance to try and cross, but the ball into the box isn't accurate. Malakai McKenzie can't retrieve, the Bucks clear.

'Port send Danny Lloyd racing down the left into space behind Ammar Dyer, but his pull-back is cleared by Alex Fletcher.

A lightning start from the Bucks and they're buoyed by that goal and looking for a second, patiently, not hell for leather. Tom Moore's ball from the 'Port defence is too strong for Dylan Dwyer, he won't catch that.
